THE 10 BEST BEACHES IN SPAIN
- SILENCE BEACH, CUDILLERO
A mandatory stop if you travel through the north of Spain. The Playa del Silencio is an exotic beach located on the coast of Asturias that as soon as you see it you will fall in love. Wild sand, rocks, cliffs... all surrounded by a deep green that will make you think you are in a movie. If you are looking for a beach with beach bars and a lot of atmosphere, then you can rule it out. It is an almost virgin beach where you can breathe peace, you will only hear the relaxing noise of the waves breaking against the rocks. We warn you, you will fall in love with its indisputable beauty.
- CALA FREDOSA, CAP DE CREUS, GIRONA
In the Cap de Creus Natural Park, under the lighthouse we find a jewel. Did you know that Cala Fredosa is the beach on the entire peninsula that receives the first ray of sun? It is located at the easternmost point and is a delight, a cove only 8 meters long with turquoise waters, aquatic vegetation and impressive views. We are not surprised that every summer it is the corner chosen by many boats to anchor. Warning: you must leave the car next to the lighthouse and you have to go down a narrow path (choose good flip-flops).
- COVACHOS BEACH, SANTANDER
Santander, our pearl of the Cantabrian Sea. In Santander is the Covachos beach, just 3 kilometers from Soto de la Marina. It is a tiny beach with an islet called El Castro de Covachos, a true beauty that only if you go at low tide will you be able to see how it joins the land. Its crystalline waters, its fine golden sand and its isolated location make it a paradise for anyone seeking calm and relaxation.
- MACARELLA AND MACARELLETA, MENORCA
The two most beautiful coves on the entire island. Choosing between them is like answering "Who do you love more, mom or dad?" There are things that are impossible to choose. Macarella and Macarelleta are two coves in the south of Menorca with white sand and turquoise water, protected by cliffs and pine trees. Macarelleta is the little sister of Macarella, with less extensive sand. They are close to each other and are two of the most famous beaches in Menorca. A but? In summer they are usually very crowded, so if you go in high season go early.
- RODAS BEACH, CÍES ISLANDS
Can you imagine a shell-shaped beach? In the Rías Baixas we have a cathedral of the sea, a beach that is a true marine treasure. The Rodas beach, in the Islas Atlánticas National Park, is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Galician community and on the entire peninsula. The Guardian newspaper chose it as the best beach in the world, and no wonder: 60 meters of fine white sand, emerald waters and natural dunes. Eye! The temperature of the water is not its biggest attraction.
- CALA CORTINA, CARTAGENA
Talking about Cala Cortina is talking about the caprice of the Cartagena coast. Saltpeter, peace, rich blue rice, a deep blue. The blue color of the sea in Cala Cortina is another story, visit this cove and be amazed, you will think it has a filter. It is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the Murcian sea, some 200 meters of beach where you can disconnect from the world and lose yourself in the peace of its blue. Cartagena, you have to visit more.
- LAGA BEACH, BASQUE COUNTRY
Surfers, this interests you! The Urdaibai Biosphere Reserve is home to one of the most incredible beaches in the entire Basque Country: Playa de Laga. It is a unique sandy area, 574 meters wide, totally wild and open to the sea. The favorite destination for many surfers, especially from Gernika and its surroundings. Because? Intense waves with peaks to the left and right that work throughout the year, the dream of every surfer.
- CALA GRANADELLA, JÁVEA
A piece of land, sand and an immense ocean: that is Cala Granadella, in Jávea. The Costa Blanca is one of the most beautiful coastal areas in Spain and Granadella is paradise made into a beach. A sandy beach with pebbles, crystal clear water and awarded with a blue flag since 1989 that offers us a perfect oasis for relaxation, but also for water sports such as diving or scuba diving. Don't forget your scuba kit!
- BENIJO BEACH, CANARY ISLANDS
One of the most beautiful beaches in the Canary Islands is found in the north of Tenerife and is called Benijo. It is of volcanic origin, so the black color of its sand can be a surprise if it is the first time you travel to the archipelago. What we like the most is that it is very far from the city and preserves its wild essence, ideal for connecting with nature and resetting. If you stay late you can enjoy the best sunset on the island!
- LOS GENOVESES BEACH, ALMERÍA
Our last stop on this beach route is Genoveses Beach, located in the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Bathed by the Mediterranean, it is one of the most special corners of the coast. A virgin beach, without bars, or beach bars, or roads that consists of a beauty that is difficult to find. Its length is quite surprising: more than 1 kilometer, but despite being so long it is usually very crowded in summer. Undoubtedly the beach that can never be missing on our trips along the Andalusian coast.
But we cannot recommend 10 beaches and not recommend the accessory that you cannot miss in your suitcase for anything in the world. We propose some sunglasses that will be your best allies: the sunglasses Hyde Black, perfect for any beach destination. And a cap? Of course, it takes the cap
We could keep recommending beaches and we would never finish. It has been difficult to only have 10, because in Spain we have some spectacular landscapes. Have you already decided where you are going to head? Pack your bags and discover the most beautiful beaches in Spain!
