The term "trucker" cap or "truck driver" cap has been much debated and popularized throughout history. The trucker caps are themselves a garment designed to protect the head and eyes from the sun's rays, but over the years they have become an iconic fashion accessory, increasingly seen among young people and adults worldwide. But why is it called that? And why is it so popular?
The true origin of the cap is found in the oldest empires: the Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, and Persians are the real pioneers of this accessory that becomes more modern and popular every day.
These ancient civilizations used headdresses to fulfill the function of the modern cap, to protect from the sun. Back then, caps were not synonymous with personality and style as they are today; rather, they were a sign of elitism because only a few had the permission and privilege to wear these caps as a method of protection.
But always - before and now - caps have been a symbol of freedom, from when they were used in the past as a symbol of liberation for former slaves, to today, where they represent a form of free style for all adventurers who are always accompanied by their trucker caps when they go out to enjoy the warm summer days.

WHAT TRUCKER CAPS ARE LIKE
The trucker caps are very distinctive in their style. They derive from the classic baseball cap but add certain strategic modifications, making them the ideal cap to wear when practicing adventure sports or casually in urban environments.
Its curved visor remains over time, although many trucker caps have also opted to offer styles with flatter visors, so you will surely find both types of trucker caps on the market and can choose the one you love the most.
But the modifications don't stop there. The trucker cap has incorporated other changes to make them more comfortable, dynamic, and fashionable. The front part is made of a lightweight material, not woven fabric as seen in the traditional cap. It is more like a material resembling padded foam rubber, usually made of polyester.
Also, the back part changed radically. The traditional baseball cap is made entirely of fabric. Trucker caps, on the other hand, have a mesh fabric with a snapback that allows the wearer to protect themselves from the sun while letting the back of their head breathe freely, preventing excess sweat buildup.

WHAT TRUCKER CAPS SAY ABOUT YOU
A cap itself always says a lot about you, but trucker caps say something special: that you are passionate about adventure, and a boy or girl with a unique personality. Usually, this type of cap shows a lot of confidence and passion for freedom, which is why we love them so much.
Besides all this, trucker caps have an advantage over other caps on the market, and that is, besides telling a story about you from the start, they allow you to reflect something meaningful about your style and personality that no other cap can.
Why? The front part of trucker caps is quite wide, making them the ideal space to embroider or print cool and artistic elements that will perfectly represent your style just by looking at them.
Just imagine that your passion is extreme sports, and in your collection of trucker hats you include one (the lucky one) for each of them. If you are proud of your passion for adventure sports, this is a great and subtle way to show it, something that, due to their characteristics, a traditional hat cannot give you, at least not in such a special way.
And the best part is that trucker hats are especially easy to pair with t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, and a sweater when you wear them day to day, and they also look great with a sporty wardrobe.

A BIT OF HISTORY
As we mentioned a bit at the beginning, the origin of hats starts when the oldest civilizations devised a piece of clothing to cover and protect themselves from the sun.
But the true boom of trucker hats was seen in the 1960s in the United States, when farmers saw hats as a great business opportunity to advertise their farms and products. So they took the “truck driver” hats and used the front part to incorporate the logo and slogan that identified their businesses and set them apart from the rest. They wore these hats themselves and also gave them to their customers, who made deliveries of vegetables and other goods in their trucks. In this way, they practically became part of the truck drivers' uniform.
This “trucker” hat model evolved and improved until becoming what it is today. Originally, it did not have the mesh at the back that gives it its essence and distinction, but they achieved this brilliant modification to improve breathability. Before, the original material was indeed foam rubber (today it only resembles it), and this has changed to other higher quality materials like cotton, polyester, corduroy, among others.
Now with their evolution, trucker hats have completely detached from their origins as uniforms for American truck drivers, and have been adopted in many subcultures such as skateboarding and other extreme and adventure sports.

What a story and evolution these trucker hats have! They have truly revolutionized hat fashion in many ways over time, and today they have become the most used and purchased hat model by adventure athletes worldwide.
