Caps have been a symbol of freedom, from being used in the past as a symbol of liberation for former slaves, to today, representing a free style for all adventurers who are always accompanied by their trucker caps when they go out to enjoy the warm summer days.
What is the origin of trucker caps?
The origin of caps begins when the oldest civilizations devised a piece of clothing to cover and protect themselves from the sun. But the real boom of trucker caps was seen in the 1960s in the United States, when farmers saw in caps a great business opportunity to advertise their farms and products.
So they took the trucker caps and used the front part to incorporate the logo and slogan that identified their businesses and set them apart from the rest. They used these caps themselves and also gave them as gifts to their clients, who made deliveries of vegetables and other goods in their trucks. In this way, they practically became part of the truckers' uniform.
