That we love BMX is nothing new. We like all its modalities and whenever a championship is held we don't want to miss it. A little while ago we dedicated a post to tell you 10 things about BMX, and today we want to tell you everything about FISE Montpellier, the most important freestyle sports competition on the international scene. Are you ready?

Between this Wednesday, May 25, and Sunday, May 29, the French city of Montpellier will host FISE, the International Festival of Extreme Sports. It is the first round of the World Cup of this 2022 season and is organized by the UCI (International Cycling Union). Considered the biggest event in freestyle sports, it brings together up to 14 different urban sports such as wakeboarding, freestyle motocross, skateboarding, mountain biking, rollerblading... and three of them, Olympic sports: BMX freestyle park, breaking and skateboarding. As you can imagine, it welcomes the top riders from all the continents who travel to measure themselves against the biggest rivals. This year 2022 in particular, the 25th anniversary of FISE is celebrated.

LET THE SHOW BEGIN!

It doesn't matter if you are a fan of freestyle sports like BMX or you just want to attend one of the top competitions of the year, you need to go to FISE Montpellier. You will be amazed watching the jumps and acrobatics of the most important athletes in the world. Professionals compete from junior to open categories, both male and female, and you can see: BMX on ramp, scooter (trottinette), roller skates... This edition promises, since everything indicates that we will be able to see BMX stars like the Australian Logan Martin, the French Anthony Jeanjean or the American Hanna Roberts.

But we are not only fascinated by what happens on the slopes, and it is that FISE Montpellier goes much further. The tests last all day, but when they are over, there is still fun for a while. Every year thousands of fans travel to Montpellier to be present at the funniest week of the year. During the day there is a very relaxed and party atmosphere, but at night there are live performances, dj sessions

In May, from Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29.

  • BUYING TICKETS

To buy your ticket you can choose between the free pass, paid pass or the podium gold pass. They are purchased directly from the festival's own website.

  • HOW TO GET THERE

The park is located in Rived du Lez, in the center of Montpellier, on the banks of the Lez river. The enclosure is very accessible, since it can be reached by different means of transport: tram, bus, or even by bicycle (or skateboard). To get a ticket for tram, do it on the TAM website. Saint-Roch station is only 1.5 km from the venue. Take line 1, 3 or 4 and get off at the ”Rives de lez” stop!

  • LIVE TRANSMISSION
