The award-winning photographer Clark Little Clark Clark was born in Napa, California in 1968. Two years later, a move to the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii, radically changed his future. In the 1980s and 1990s he made a name for himself as a pioneer of shorebreak surfing at Waimea Bay. Clark had a unique talent for taking off on hopelessly tight shorebreak waves and surviving in one piece. In a short time, Clark has gained worldwide recognition for his North Shore Break wave photography with exhibitions in Japan, Canada, Brazil, Spain and throughout the United States, along with appearances on television shows such as CBS Evening News, Good Morning America, The Today Show, Inside Edition, Discovery Channel, ABC World News Now, France 2, NHK and Asahi TV in Japan.
Clark's work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Museum, the Alden B.Dow Museum, Science Museum of Virginia, Museum of Contemporary Art Barcelona (Spain), Parco Logos Gallery (Tokyo, Japan), Gallery X (Tokyo, Japan), Heritage Maritime Canada (Montreal, Canada), The Four Seasons, and The Ritz-Carlton Resorts, and has been published in National Geographic, New York Times, LIFE, Nikon World, Paris Match, Outdoor Japan, Sierra, Geo, Nature's Best Photography, Rangefinder, and Surfer's Journal, among others. In November 2009, Clark published his first 182-page art book, The Shorebreak Art of Clark Little. In January 2011, Clark opened the Clark Little Gallery Haleiwa in his hometown of Haleiwa, Hawaii, right next to many of the North Shore beaches featured in his photography. In February 2014, Clark published his second book Shorebreak, a 160-page coffee table book featuring wave and ocean photography from the North Shore of Oahu, Maui, Kauai, the Big Island, California, Japan, and French Polynesia. In 2014, Clark also published a book in Japan "Waves of North Shore" (Parco Publishing). Most recently, in 2016, the film SHOREBREAK: The Clark Little Story was released.

Ray Collins (born 1982) is a photographer Thirroul Ocean Mine in New South Wales, Australia. In 2007, a tragic accident in an underground coal mine left him with a knee injury and for several months he was unable to walk; it was then that he discovered the photograph. Reading and rereading the camera manual from cover to cover helped him understand the processes of the photograph and how to interpret and manipulate light. As his rehabilitation progressed, he invested in a waterproof housing to combine his new passion, photograph, with his true love, the ocean.
With the aim of photographing his friends surfing around his local area and with the goal of getting a single photo published photoWithin months he had captured the attention of the surfing world, gracing the covers of several international magazines with his fresh perspective and willingness to risk his personal safety to get the shot. In 2012, after several years of photographing the biggest names in surfing, he put his camera down for a year, during which time he worked on the many layers of himself and decided to stop drinking alcohol. This was a crucial decision to pave his way. With the extra hours of daylight available, instead of spending his evenings in the pub and mornings with a hangover, he turned his attention back to the sea. Born in 1972 near Paris, Pierre Carreau grew up surrounded by artistic influences in a family in which there was a photographer, sculptors and painters. Perhaps as a reaction to this subtle pressure, he initially chose to follow a different path and graduated in business. However, the artist's soul was not repressed and, after several years working in the information technology sector, Carreau returned to his roots and became photographer professional and visual artist.
His love of the ocean and water sports led him to work photographing action images for surfing and kite-surfing magazines, but the water itself eventually captured his artistic imagination and became the genesis of AquaViva. In 2004, Pierre moved with his wife and children to the Caribbean island of St. Barthelemy. This little paradise has become Carreau’s open-air studio, where the subtle variations of tropical sunlight and the endlessly changing soul of the sea become the subjects of his vision. Pierre Carreau’s fine art photography is on display at the Saatchi Gallery (London) from 15 March to 5 May 2019.
