Climbing the ice of Africa with Will Gadd

Will Gadd is a living legend in the history of mountaineering. Specifically, he's the superhero of ice climbing. At over 40 years old, he's a true veteran, a seasoned rock star of the sport, and he continues to put on a show year after year. He has won world mountaineering championships and has won the Winter X Games.Another important milestone for this mountain phenomenon occurred in 2010, when he climbed a nearly 40-meter-high ice wall for a full day, totaling a climb of 7,747 meters.

But, looking for the most difficult yet, this time he surprised us by climbing the Ice that still remains on Mount Kilimanjaro, on the roof of Africa, at 5,895 meters above sea level.

Gadd says that at almost 6,000 meters it is difficult to even walk and that it took them almost a week to reach the place.

Note that he is the first person in the world to accomplish this feat.

It is expected that by 2020 there will be no more ice left on the top of Kilimanjaro., which makes this adventure by Will Gadd even more epic and unique.

Gadd says that at almost 6,000 meters, it's difficult to even walk, and that it took them almost a week to reach the location of these "icebergs." Because, in his words, "they look like icebergs stranded on a tropical beach."

Gaad is the first person in the world to accomplish this feat.

What will Will Gadd's next feat be? We'll be following him closely and trying to keep you updated.
