For those of you who still don't know what BASE jumping is, we will tell you that is a form of skydiving, with the difference that in skydiving you jump from an aircraft in flight and in the BASE jump from a fixed point . Its acronym B.A.S.E refers to the places used for this Building Antenna Span Earth modality (buildings, chimneys, bridges and from the ground). Without a doubt, this sport is considered the most extreme within extreme sports, since the risk is very high.

Those who practice BASE jumping study in detail the weather conditions, space and every little detail before jumping. If the conditions are not adequate, the jump is not carried out. In Spain, this modality has already been accepted as an air sport and there are several schools where classes are taught.

For BASE jumping a special parachute is used , which, unlike skydiving, the second parachute does not make much sense because the height from which they are thrown does not allow time for the second parachute to open. reserve.

To master the BASE jump, you must first master free fall and for this it is estimated that it is necessary to jump between 200 and 300 times in free fall. Jumpers must always be specifically equipped with what is necessary for the BASE jumping, since the forces that act, the needs and the opening times are different from those of skydiving.

One of the best skydivers in BASE jumping is Roberta Mancino, who in addition to being an international model, holds several world records. In 2009, after having made more than 5,500 skydives (skydiving jumps), she began BASE jumping. Her challenge is to jump the Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure located in Dubai.
