Girl skaters have increasingly joined the spotlight of professional skateboarding due to their great talent and skill. Since its beginnings in California (USA) in the 1960s, this discipline was framed in a purely male environment. But now, as in many other extreme sports, the girls have shown that they deserve their rightful place in the skateboarding world. Leticia Bufoni is one of the most famous and popular skaters in the world. This girl, originally from Sao Paulo, is a true star in Brazil, and even has her own television show. She started in the world of skateboarding when she was 9 years old, although she got her first skateboard at 11. Leticia, with her Goofy style, participated in her first X Games when she was 14 years old and from then on has managed to master a unique technique that makes her a highly talented skater internationally.

Karen Jonz Domingos Santos Claudio, known simply as Karen Jonz, is a Brazilian skater, singer, and designer, a pioneer in the skate sport in her country since she turned 17. In her early days, she competed in vertical skateboarding against men, where she became runner-up. Later, she won the Skateboarding World Cup four times and also won the vertical skate competition at the X Games in Los Angeles in 2008. Without a doubt, Karen is a very talented and passionate girl who breaks the mold with nothing stopping her.

Elizabeth “Lizzie” Armanto is a professional skater (with dual Finnish and American nationality) who knows how to defy gravity and leave all her fans amazed. Born in 1993, Lizzie made history just a few months ago by becoming the first woman to complete Tony Hawk's impressive 360º vertical loop, a feat very few have managed to accomplish. Armanto has been a two-time X Games medalist and took home gold at the first Women's Skateboard Park event in 2013. She is currently preparing to participate in the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

Born in Chesapeake, Virginia (USA), Mimi Knoop has been a professional skateboarder since 2003. She has been highly recognized for winning five X Games medals. Additionally, she founded the Women's Skateboarding Alliance and Hoopla Skateboards to help promote skateboarding among young girls. She has now become a talented multimedia artist and designer. Her portfolio includes creating the name and logo for the Vans Girls Combi Pool Classic contest.

Pamela Rosa is a young and very talented skater from San Jose dos Campo, Brazil. At the age of 20, and with her regular style, Rosa has won 6 X Games medals, including two golds, and competed in the Street League Skateboarding Tour (London) in 2019, finishing first. That same year she achieved her second consecutive victory at the Dew Tour in Long Beach. Pamela has acknowledged that being a skater has helped her get ahead financially and she is very proud to be able to help her family thanks to it. Without a doubt, her technique, self-confidence, and skill in the sport have led her to triumph and stand out wonderfully in the skate world with sponsors like Nike and Silver Trucks Brasil.

Candy Jacobs is an incredible Dutch skater, world champion of the Street Women’s competition in the Netherlands. Although she is originally from Tegelen, her favorite place in the world to skate is Los Angeles (California), the sport's mecca. With her Goofy style, Candy started skating in 2003, and since then she has dedicated all her free time to this sport, which has become her true passion. Currently, skating has become her full-time job and she is fascinated by it. She has participated in 10 X Games, finishing fourth both at the XGames Austin in 2016 and the XGames Norway in 2018. In June 2019, she placed third at the Dew Tour Long Beach, behind Pamela Rosa and Leticia Bufoni. Candy Jacobs is currently preparing to participate in the upcoming Olympic Games.

Born in Pembroke, Massachusetts (USA), Nora Vasconcellos became the first girl to join legends Mark Gonzales and Song Dae-won on the renowned Adidas skate team. She also inspired the brand to make a micro-documentary about her and create skate shoes in her honor, the Matchcourt RX Nora, in her favorite color (pastel lilac). A fan of the animated TV series Rocket Power, Nora started the sport at a very young age, inspired by the character Reggie, the only girl in the series who practiced extreme sports. Nora has become a recognized international skater, with skills and techniques that have helped her leave anxieties behind and become the great skater she is today.

Amelia Brodka has been a professional skater since 2007. Although she was born in Poland, she has spent most of her life in California. She is passionate about skateboarding and has demonstrated her great talent and skill in her many appearances at the X Games around the world. Additionally, she is very interested in communication and film. She directed the female-focused documentary Underexposed: A Women's Skateboarding Documentary, which explores women's skateboarding and gender disparities in the sport. She also co-created Exposure, a skateboarding championship for women. Amelia has shined as the excellent skater she is in international vert, park, and bowl competitions over the last decade, and has advocated for gender equality in this discipline.

There is no doubt that these girls really know how to handle a skateboard!
Their talent, drive for improvement, years of practice, and technique have led this group of girls to compete in high-level world events throughout their careers, securing valuable sponsorships and winning the hearts of their fans. They are undoubtedly a complete and total inspiration!
